Sugarcane E.A. Decaffeination is a natural process that not only maintains fantastic integrity of green coffee flavour, but also allows us to offer a coffee that is grown, processed and decaffeinated all at source. This coffee is processed at the Descafecol plant in Manzales, Colombia where Ethyl Acetate derived from 100% sugarcane and mountain water is used to remove 99.7% of the caffeine present.
Of all the processes used to decaffeinate coffee, Sugarcane E.A. Decaffeination is, the clear favourite of ours. Unlike other methods that require shipping to Mexico, Germany or Canada for processing, this coffee is shipped directly to our European warehouse which is not only better for the environment but also provides a secondary income to the producing country.
Roasted for espresso and representing the work of multiple producers from the municipality of La Plata, Huila, this coffee is bright, sweet and packed full of flavour. Expect notes of cranberry, red currants and cacao, with a sweet malty finish. We’ve been particularly enjoying this with milk and if you like your coffee a little lighter, it makes a cracking french press.
