When choosing our Christmas coffee, we always try to pick something that everyone will love. A coffee that’s balanced, sweet and great for sharing, with flavours that go well with the festive treats we enjoy at this time of year! With help from our friends at Primavera, we’ve sourced this beautiful lot from Guatemala, and we hope you enjoy this coffee as much as we do.

José López Armas owns Finca El Mirador, which is located in one of the most remote areas of Guatemala. The López family have been growing coffee here for nearly 40 years and have a reputation in Huehuetenango for being pioneers in coffee production.  When they first started, there were no roads to their farm and coffee was transported on horses and mules for three days in order to sell at the nearest town. Back then, they did not give coffee the care and attention it now receives, but over time it became a passion for the new generation. In 1999, Finca El Mirador won a prize for coffee quality, and this recognition motivated the López family to strive for better agricultural practices and wet milling techniques. To this day, they continue to work diligently to improve their quality, and the results speak for themselves!

With flavours of chocolate and cranberry, this coffee is complex, creamy and incredibly moreish - perfect for brewing in bigger batches and for that post-dinner pick-me-up!

José López Armas grows, harvests and processes all of his own coffee. Their sister company, Primavera Green Coffee then ships the coffee to their warehouse and arranges the onward transport to our roastery.
