Full-time Production Assistant
Employment: Full-time (Hourly Contract)
Hours: 4 day week, 35-40 hours/week
Remuneration: €14.80/hour (Living Wage)
Location: Upper Cloosh, Oughterard, Co. Galway, H91 NW83
Start Date: September 2025
Responsibilities
As a Production Assistant, you’ll play a hands-on role in the daily running of the roastery. From preparing green coffee for roasting to packing and shipping customer orders, you’ll be involved in every step of our production process. This is a physically active role that involves lifting, moving equipment, and being on your feet for long periods in a busy production environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Processing and fulfilling orders to ensure timely delivery
- Preparing coffee for roasting (handling sacks, weighing, cleaning buckets)
- Labelling and packing roasted coffee
- Supporting the roasting team and following production protocols
- Participating in quality control (cuppings, brewing, recipe development)
- Weekly cleaning and maintenance of the roasting machine
- Keeping the roastery clean, tidy, and well-organised
- Carrying out other tasks as assigned by the Roastery Manager or Head of Coffee
The Candidate
You’re someone who enjoys physical, hands-on work and takes pride in doing things well. You work quickly and accurately, manage your time effectively, and bring a proactive, problem-solving attitude to your role. You’re a team player who’s always looking for ways to improve how things are done.
- Has experience in a fast-paced or physical work environment
- Works with care, precision, and attention to detail
- Communicates clearly and works well with others
- Is enthusiastic about learning and growing in the coffee industry
- (Bonus) Has experience as a barista or in coffee production
