Our Story
Calendar was founded with the goal of championing seasonal coffee and the people who grow it.
Since 2018, we’ve been working with farmers and importers to source high quality, fresh coffee from some of the best producers around the world. The future of coffee depends on these producers being able to earn enough money to earn a prosperous income, but most smallholder farmers aren’t even paid enough to cover the cost of growing and harvesting coffee.
Through producer-led pricing and long-term partnerships, we want to contribute to a future where all coffee is sourced from profitable farms, and coffee-producing communities are able to thrive
Co Founders - Zarah Lawless & Daniel Boobier
Our Story
Zarah and Dan met in 2014 while working at a coffee roastery in London. They noticed that the coffees that tasted best were usually the ones that had been freshly picked, but this often wasn't talked about or shared with customers. They wanted to set up their own roastery where they could champion coffee as a seasonal product, while also prioritising its environmental and social impact. In 2017, after more than a year of planning and saving, they moved to Zarah's hometown of Galway and started Calendar, a roastery built on high quality, seasonal coffee and sustainability.
