Chelbesa is the first of two washing stations owned by exporting company SNAP Coffee in the Gedeb area, with Danche being the second. Located at 2,100 masl near Worka town, the station sits within Gedeb’s largest coffee-growing area, covering approximately 1,240 hectares of coffee farms.

The station works with smallholder farmers with 0.5 to 2 hectares of land, at elevations ranging from 1,925 to 2,110 masl. Its close proximity to the farms means cherries can reach the station within 40 minutes of picking. This lot combines Woliso, Dega and local heirloom varieties, bringing together the distinctive character of Gedeb.

In the cup, expect a complex, intensely aromatic and fruit-forward espresso, with notes of stone fruit, black tea and jasmine.
