OREA Flow Regulators #2 & #4
Take greater control of your brew with the OREA Flow Regulators #2 & #4. This set of two flow regulators gives you more control over the rate at which water leaves the brewer, helping you fine-tune contact time and extraction.
How do they work?
The flow regulator sits in the bottom of the brewer and restricts the flow of brewed coffee through the outlet. By slowing the maximum flow rate, more water remains in contact with the coffee for longer.
This gives you the flexibility to use a coarser grind while maintaining a longer contact time. The result is a more controlled extraction and a brew that can be easier to repeat.
What do the numbers mean?
The number refers to the regulator's maximum flow rate. A lower number means a slower flow rate and therefore greater restriction, while a higher number allows more flow.
- #2 — more restrictive, with a slower maximum flow rate. Best when you want to extend contact time further.
- #4 — less restrictive, allowing a faster maximum flow rate. A good choice when you want some additional control without slowing the brew as much.
Having both regulators lets you adjust the flow to suit different coffees, grind sizes and brewing recipes.
They’re particularly useful for highly processed coffees, very light roasts and more developed coffees that benefit from a cleaner, more controlled extraction.
Made from food-grade silicone and compatible with selected OREA O-Series brewers, including the 01.
