This single origin espresso is available all year round, showcasing robust, fruity coffees from Ethiopia and Peru.

Located at a whopping 2,100 masl, this coffee comes from the Chelbesa washing station in Gedeb, southern Ethiopia. Chelbesa is the largest coffee growing area in Gedeb, with a total area of 1,240 hectares of coffee farms. This station buys cherries from approximately 170 farmers all located in the area. The farms are between 0.5 to 2 hectares in size, and the varieties that make up this lot are Wolisho, Dega and some that are yet to be formally identified.
Expect a complex, fruity and aromatic espresso, with notes of peach, bergamot and lavender.

Importer: Nordic Approach
In total, 170 farmers deliver their cherries to Chelbesa washing station for processing. The dried parchment must then be approved by the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) checkpoint where its contents are graded and registered as exportable product before it is warehoused in Addis Ababa. The exporter, SNAP Trading & Industry PLC then mills the coffee, prepares the export documentation and transports the coffee to the port in Djibouti. Our importer, Nordic Approach, ships the coffee to their warehouse in Belgium and arranges the onward transport to our roastery.
