It's important to support producers who go the extra mile to protect the environment. That’s why Super Nature is always sourced from certified organic farms, grown and produced without the use of synthetic fertilisers, herbicides, or pesticides. This single origin espresso is available all year round, showcasing robust, fruity coffees from Ethiopia and Peru.

This coffee was picked from the forests of South West Ethiopia, and processed at the Nano Challa washing station in Jimma. This area holds great cultural significance because it’s thought to be the birthplace of coffee! Today, these forests are home to the largest populations of wild (indigenous) Arabica coffee, most of which are yet to be formally identified.

Over 400 smallholder farmers deliver their cherries to Nano Challa for processing, and this is one of the best lots we've tasted from Ethiopia this season. You can expect an intensely fruity, juicy and well balanced espresso with notes of bergamot, nectarine and toffee.

Approximately 400 farmers deliver their cherries to the Nano Challa washing station for processing. The dried parchment must then be approved by the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) checkpoint where its contents are graded and registered as exportable product before it is warehoused in Addis Ababa. The exporter, Kata Muduga Union then mills the coffee, prepares the export documentation and transports the coffee to the port in Djibouti. Our importer, Nordic Approach, ships the coffee to their warehouse in Belgium and arranges the onward transport to our roastery.
